advoCATS,
inc. is dedicated to the well-being of West Hawaii’s feral cats

Cat-Care
has several programs that assist animals in the Volcano community. We
are best known for “The Cat House,” aka Hale Meow Meow,
a limited access no-kill cat sanctuary for cats without human
advocats. Our other programs are S.N.I.P.® Volcano, (Spay/Neuter
Implement Plan), a Dedicated Lost & Found Pet Bulletin Board as
well as “Have Scanner Will Travel” a service to scan any
found animals in the area. We are also creating a model of Feral Acres,
safe enclosed land sanctuary for feral cats. We also offer humane education
classes for schools, libraries, churches and civic groups.
The mission
of the Hawaii Island Humane Society is to prevent cruelty to animals,
eliminate pet overpopulation, and enhance the bond between humans and
animals. Our three shelters, located in Kona, Waimea, and Keaau, take
in any animals at any time for no charge. We adopt out nearly 2,000
pets annually and also offer a foster care program for those who can
temporarily provide for an animal in need. HIHS handles animal control
and animal cruelty investigations for the County of Hawaii and offers
24 hour emergency service.
